Selection and System Integration
Confirm whether the integration requires rainfall totals, rainfall intensity or rain-event status. Request the register definitions and calibration procedure; an optical sensor should not be assumed to behave identically to a tipping-bucket gauge.
Installation and Application Notes
Choose an exposed mounting position with access for cleaning the optical surface. Validate rainfall readings in the intended climate and installation. Snow performance and automatic cleaning are not established in the supplied sheet.
Sample Evaluation
Before a larger order, check the selected sample against the agreed specification using representative operating conditions. Confirm wiring, power, output units and controller communication, then record reference measurements and any configuration changes. Agree on the required documents, packing and replacement components as part of the quotation.
Application FAQ
Can I replace a tipping-bucket gauge without changing controller logic?
Check the measurement units, totalizer behavior, sampling period and register map first. The two measurement methods are not automatically interchangeable.
